Firesign Theatre:

I Think We're All Bozos on this Bus

This radio theatre, I think We’re All Bozos on This Bus is a direct commentary of issues happening when this show was broadcasted. For example, when Clem is at what could be seen very similar to the 1964 World Fair, there is a holograph of President Nixon, of whom was in office when this podcast was created. Yet there was also a holograph of President Lincoln, who would vaguely answer question without really addressing their concerns. Clem intentionally tries to shut the holograph down by asking absurd questions. This is commentary on President Nixon’s time in office, as it is known he was not the greatest leader, nor politician. By addressing The President with “this is Worker speaking” which activates the computer program based off of ELIZA. Ironically, now, if one will address Apple’s Siri with, “this is Worker speaking, hello”, she will respond with, Hello, Ah-Clem, what function can I perform for you?”. What makes this podcast so difficult is its time frame, for when it was created in the 70s, our present was their future, so one must examine this with a spectral lens.
